Rumors & Gossip with the Mystic Faerie’s

Today’s cotd is the Five of Wands from the Mystic Faerie Tarot.  Many times this is a card of competition, debates, arguments, and disagreements.  Today is no different.  Monday’s, in general, get a bad rap. For most folk its the first day back to work after a too short weekend. If I had a nickel for every time I heard someone mutter, “I hate Monday’s”… I’d have a lot of nickels. When we show up to work on Monday morning with a Grumpy Gus attitude, it can spread like wild fire. Next thing you know everyone is grumpy and disagreeable.

So, I decided to explore the reason for a Five of Wands-Monday, my answer came from The Moon, Ten of Swords, and Temperance.

This card combo makes me think of rumors, gossiping, half truths, embellished tales, hear-say, and betrayal.    Spreading rumors and gossip is not only damaging and hurtful, but can come back and bite you in the ass.  The best course of action is to not perpetuate the behavior.

Well first up, be careful what you ask for.  With The Moon, things aren’t always what they seem and on the other hand, she may actually show me/you what we think we want to see leaving us to wonder if it was worth it.  She is positioned opposite of Temperance.  Temperance is here to bring some balance to possibly overreacting in the Ten of Swords.  Sometimes, no matter how much we fear or try to avoid something, we find it has happened anyway.  As devastating as it might feel at the moment, the worst is over.  Keep things in perspective, blowing things out of proportion won’t help and neither will down playing them too much.  Don’t add to the drama.   That won’t help you or anyone else involved.
